Prus Construction partnered with the Commonwealth of Kentucky to reconstruct 1.5 miles of KY Route 9 through the City of Newport, improving public safety, enhancing regional connectivity, and supporting long-term economic growth. As prime contractor, Prus self-performed major components, including excavation, grading, storm system separation, watermain installation, utility duct banks, and new concrete pavement, while coordinating lighting, traffic signals, and pipe lining with specialty partners. Through close collaboration with state engineers and inspectors, the project successfully redirected truck traffic, lowered vehicle speeds, and modernized critical infrastructure, helping Sanitation District No. 1 meet federal compliance goals and strengthening the community’s transportation network.
